I totally understand using vintage pieces alongside modern home decor, but I'll be honest, the thought never occurred to me to shop for vintage clothing, until being introduced to Shadai Jennings.
Shadai is the owner of Mon Reve' & Co. - a shop full of gently worn, vintage and unique clothing, shoes, handbags, hats & jewelry.
It comes as no surprise that she has a keen sense for finding quality vintage goods to incorporate into a modern wardrobe, as she is the daughter of Cynthia Jennings (owner of Sweet Harvest Farms). Shadai takes her inspiration from her travels around the world when she was young, combined with her southern roots in her home state of Texas. She's developed a love of all things vintage, bohemian, retro, southern, punk, European and ethnic.
Mon Reve' and Co. offers these unique vintage and pre-loved finds and styles them with modern pieces to create outfits that work into your everyday wardrobe, but doesn't look like the standard "mall" garment. Each piece has "history".

I love the loose, flowing look of this Floral Maxi Dress. I rarely wear dresses, because they always seem too fussy and uncomfortable to me, but this one looks incredibly comfortable, yet stylish and flattering for even the "I've had 4 children" mom.
This Boho Multi-Color Rag Vest looks just plain fun and unique.
I love this Brown Leather Embossed Handbag. I'm hard on purses, but this one looks like it could hold its own, and still look great. I'd love pairing it with blue jeans and a white shirt for summer.
Check out the pretty feathered hem on this Floral Maxi Skirt! Again, this looks totally comfortable, but so pretty at the same time.
This Floral Silk Scarf works well with something dressy, or a t-shirt and jeans.

ReplyDeleteI wish I kept the clothes and accessories of my older sisters! When they were 18 years (there's 3 of them) or older I was pre-teens and I always admired them when they stepped out! I can clearly recall my eldest sister's beehive hairdo, mini skirt and platform heels...lol

Great post Angie ... the models are beautiful and yes, some vintage clothes are so pretty. I have a few vintage clothes that I have collected and some of mine from the 80's that I consider vintage.
