Yes, I'm well aware it's December and not July,
and no, I have not done even an ounce of Christmas decorating yet.
So, why am I sharing this red, white and blue,
4th of July-looking photo with you?
.jpg)
I bought a box full of old playing cards
and the pretty reds and blues were begging
to become a July 4th banners.
I knew I'd forget I had the cards by the time July
rolls around, so you gotta create while the
inspiration is there. Some old buttons
complimented the perfect aged color tone on the cards.
God Bless the USA...in December too!

Okay, now that I have that out of my system,
I guess I should get the Christmas tree out of the attic,
and break out the red and green decor,
or I'll be decorating for Christmas in July.
Update - in an attempt to get my Christmas spirit going,
I did make a little Noel banner with just the red
cards. I still didn't get my tree out of the attic though!
I seriously love how these cards look against
the deep reds and browns of the old books behind them.
Blessings,

I am so not ready to decorate. I have been busy creating too! It's a lot more fun. Love your banner, you made me feel better today, thanks!
ReplyDeleteHow creative! Until you did the close up, I didn't know they were cards! You are so clever.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea.
Hugs,
Patti
Angie, they look really quite nice for Christmas. I think you have started. x
ReplyDeleteI have playing cards and I've been clueless on what to do with them. Thanks so much for the ideas. I have no doubt that you will kick in to Christmas decorating and be fabulous!!!!
ReplyDeleteAngie another brilliant idea! Love this!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Sunday!

This is a great idea! And the sentiment is one that is always appropriate, and so important. Too many people only think about our freedoms when it is the fourth of July, and tend to forget them and the other blessings we have in this country the rest of the year. I am glad you keep them close to your heart!
ReplyDeleteAnd the Noel is so cute, too!
What a great idea.I really like the NOEL on the old books. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSo creative! Looks wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are great! Love them set against the old books.
ReplyDeleteFabulous! I really love everything about this - the buttons & old cards are pure bliss.

How fun Angie! Yes, you have to go for it when it's fresh on your mind. A couple years ago I made and Advent using old playing cards. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
