My daughter and I went to the flea market last weekend,
and I found quite a few little goodies, including this old
iron cooling rest. It only cost 50 cents and since we
are just starting the remodeling of our laundry room,
I thought this would make a fitting decoration for the room.
I wanted to do something fun with it, and a verse
from Philippians 3:14 popped into my head, so
I used some Scrabble tiles to form the words, "Press On".
Then scanned the verse from an old Bible,
printed it out on transfer paper, and ironed
it onto a scrap of canvas and glued it to the iron rest.
The people of Israel were instructed by God to
write His word, "on the doorposts of your house", (Deut. 6:9)
and I've always thought that was such a beautiful way
to remind them to love God with their whole heart,
I recently came across this blog that encourages
women to read God's word daily, so I'm now
following them so I'll receive their daily Scripture readings.
They are starting a new book of the Bible on Monday,
so this is a perfect time to start following along
and be encouraged to get in God's word daily.
6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.
7 You shall teach them diligently to your children,
and shall talk of them when you sit in your house,
when you walk by the way, when you lie down,
and when you rise up.
8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand,
and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
9 You shall write them on the
doorposts of your house and on your gates.
Press On!
