An Old Lady Gets a New "Dress"

I've had this old gal for over a year.
She was too large to ship and I don't have a booth space,
so I had no way to sell her.
I already had several accent tables in my home
and didn't have a place for her, and
although I think she looks lovely in her sunny yellow "dress"...
but she just wasn't dressed for my decor.
So, she's sat in my workshop, stacked a mile high with junk.
Every time I walked past her, I felt a little guilty for
banning such a sweet old gal to my dungeon of a workshop,
but I just didn't know what to do with her.

Last week though, I discovered I actually needed a table just her size and wanted
a lower shelf and remembered her sitting unloved and alone in the workshop.
I was so excited that I could finally invite her in and treat her right.

She still needed some new clothing, so I gave her a
cottage white dress and I do think she loves it.
She is ancient and looks like she's had a hard life.
The boards on her top have separated.
Someone tried to stabilize the boards, but didn't drive the nails straight,
so some are sticking out the side.
Her shelf has deep scars.
But I think she's borne it all with dignity.
Later today, I'll show you the perfect place I found just for her.
I think she feels pretty, and useful and loved once again!

Blessings,
Angie

  10. She's lovely, Angie! She looked good in yellow, but white is great on her, too. I like it that you left her character in place. :)

  19. Don't we all need a little paint as we age? It hides a multitude of sins and makes us refreshed. I think she's beautiful with her new dress.
