Antique Graphics Wednesday - School Primer & Flashcard Words

Today's gorgeous images come from "The Cyr Readers - Book 2" & "The Beacon First Reader".

The Cyr Readers was a reading textbook for young school children and was published sometime in the early 1900's.  My book was falling apart, so I don't have the page that might have included a date.
The Beacon First Reader was published in 1913.

Not only are the illustrations wonderful, but I love the phonetic spellings
included to help the child read the words and the way the paper ages in old books.

Isn't this image sweet?

Here's the image as it looks on the original page.
Another adorable page from the book.
I love really old children's flashcards, but rarely come
across any, so  I've edited some words from these books, so they
could be printed out to look like antique flashcards.

I hope you find something fun to do with
these images and words.
I'll be adding more words from these antique readers,
because I plan to use some of them!

Blessings,
Angie
