Welcome back to
My little party is growing!
There were 71 link-ups last week.
Now, having said that,
I'm not hoping to ever host a mega-party.
I like being to display larger photos
of that each person has come
here to share! I also think
visitors can more easily appreciate
the links that are shared, because
there isn't an overwhelming amount of them.
My first feature this week is from
Richard @ My Old Historic House
Aside from the fact that I
love his HUGE collection of old
lanterns, several other things
about his post grabbed my attention.
You see, although I was born and raised in IL
and we bought and moved into a
new house in IL 3 months ago,
I gotta admit, my heart is still in MO
(where we lived for 6 years).
So, when I saw that Richard lives in MO,
near the Mississippi River,
and he used his lanterns for
a power outage during the "Flood of 08",
I felt like I was featuring a neighbor!
He was without power for EIGHT weeks!
(You can see the river from his house in this photo).
My sister was visiting us from NM
during the peak of the flood of 08
and we spent several days
helping with the sandbagging efforts
in Canton, MO, a little town north
of our home, where the Mighty Miss
was putting the town at risk.
Thanks for sharing your story
with us, Richard!
Linda @ Delight
shares my passion for old books
and her lovely display of old leather books
resting on a vintage silver urn
is simplistically beautiful.
Crafting Rebellion
shared this super easy, super LOVE IT
tutorial for Silhouette Candles.
I love the vintage look of a silhouette and
the fact that this project would only
take a couple minutes really makes me smile!

Now on to this week's party!!!
SHARE AS MUCH
VINTAGE-STYLE GOODNESS
AS YOU WANT!!!
I appreciate each and every one
of you that stops by each week to share
a little of your world and creativity
with the rest of us.

Okay I just linked up.... Going Fishing... We used some Old Crates to make the sign and the bench... So I hope this Counts... :)
ReplyDeleteRichard's old lanterns are so interesting. What an ordeal that flood must've been. Weather is so unpredictable and terrifying at times. Oh, and happy birthday! Saw you had a celebration a few days ago! Thanks for hosting this fun party. It's a pleasure to participate.

Wonderful features Angie, I love the silver urn with the books. Thanks so much for hosting.
ReplyDeleteHi Angie, How fun that you have that connection with Richard. I love his lantern collection. I too am glad that your link party is not huge. Some of them are so large that I have quit linking with them. Feel like a pin in a haystack. My little blog doesn't compare, but I love sharing and finding new friends. Thanks for hosting!
