A Love/Hate Relationship

I found this telephone bench at a little hole-in-the-wall thrift store and really loved it.

Sorry, didn't think to get out the camera until after I started painting it.

Cute right?  I'll LOVE it when it's done, right?

Well, that was before I discovered this



No, I'm not talking about the hole.  Look closer.  See that red bleeding through?

Yeah, it's the stain that Satan created.

Fortunately, it isn't bleeding through everywhere.  Mainly it's where there is "raw" wood - like under where the seat cushion will be, but it's shown up in a few smaller spots too. 

So...I may end up hating this little bench after all.  Wonder how many coats it will take to cover it, if it can be covered at all.
