So, yesterday I told you that I really wasn't thinking when I bid and won this antique radio at an auction.
I didn't have any great reason for buying it - it was cheap and kinda cool is all I can think of.
Well, sometimes...it pays to check your brains at the auction door!
Here he is today.
His innards (record player and radio box) have been removed.
I sanded him down all over,
repainted with Valspar Churchill Hotel Wheat,
distressed him, then used Valspar Antique Glaze.
I think he'll make a great accent or foyer table.
Let's hear it for the Oldies!
Total Cost - $11
$2 for the Radio and $9 for the Antique Glaze (which I'll be able to use on about 100 more things!).
Already had the paint!

Love the new look of the old radio. AND super job on the button! wooohooo!

That is so fabulous!!! I love it, I have wanted one of those for so long! I can remember my folks having one when I was very tiny, and I loved it then.

You got that cool old radio for $2?? Wow! I love this transformation so much--I used to work at a radio station as a DJ, and one of my bosses had his office decorated with a collection of old radios that he placed by the decade made--it was really a neat display!
